**You may sign up for any number of weeks. You DO NOT need to sign up for the entire 10 weeks.
OLTC Kid’s Camp Supervision
Counselors and instructors will be with kids at all times. Safety is our first priority and we want to assure you that supervision of all campers will begin when they arrive and will continue until they leave for the day. All our counselors are teachers or college age and have experience with kids. We hire staff based on their desire to be a positive role model and help build character in children. All our staff is trained in safety, supervision, problem solving, CPR, and first aid.
OLTC Kid’s Camp Tennis
While our tennis drills will be run at the highest level, they will also be fun. We will use both the har-tru and grass courts making our camp one of the few camps in the US that has instruction on both surfaces. Children will be grouped according to age and ability level. Focus will be on tennis drills and games that promote hand-eye coordination, movement, scoring and fun competition. Instruction will focus on the development of ground strokes, volleys and the serve. Campers will be taught basic strategy and develop the skills necessary to rally from the baseline and learn to score. Our tennis instruction will be of the highest level while making tennis fun. We want the kids to learn and have a great time doing it!
OLTC Kid’s Camp Swimming
Our swim program will focus on two aspects; half of the time will be a group swim lesson followed by a group free swim. Our swim instruction will be of the highest level with a small student to instructor ratio. Lifeguards, counselors, and swim instructors will be present at all times.
OLTC Kid’s Camp Soccer
I am sure many of you know soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world and is definitely growing in the United States. What I bet you don’t know is that almost all of the foreign tennis players around the world play soccer at a high level. Studies have shown that many of the skills learned in soccer translate to tennis in many ways including footwork, balance and movement. Our soccer program will focus on footwork, dribbling, passing, heading, teamwork and basic strategy to play the game of soccer. Our soccer instructors will be of the highest level. Play will be in our lower field (below the clubhouse) or in our upper field by courts 7-8.
OLTC Kid’s Camp Arts, Crafts, Cooking Classes, Capture the Flag Games, Basketball, Magic Shows and Special Activities
Our arts and crafts program will take place in our Paddle Hut (with air conditioning installed) and will provide your children with an opportunity to express their “creative-selves.” We will offer a range of activities suited to different age groups and interests.
**Activities include: Cooking classes, treasure hunts, sand-castle building contests, tie-dye tees, scrap booking, hide and seek… Fridays will be reserved for “special events” such as magic shows, karate exhibitions and the four legged reptile man.
OLTC Kid’s Lunch
A healthy kid’s buffet lunch will be served on a daily basis in the OLTC Paddle Hut. If your son or daughter is allergic to certain foods or has a special diet it will be addressed so that all children have a place in our camp. As always, our counselors will be with your children 100% of the time during their OLTC Camp day.
