Spring Junior Clinics

Clinics offered to juniors according to age and ability levels. Each clinic focuses on particular aspects of development according to which clinic the junior is signed up in. There will be a spring and summer clinic schedule offered. Please review the junior tennis flyer and sign up by age and clinic offering. If you have questions please contact Scott Moore at the Pro Shop. Clinics will be taught by the tennis staff and the quality of instruction will be at the highest level.

Spring is coming and before you know it we will be starting our spring tennis season.  I know many of you have inquired about the junior tennis program and what times and days they will be running this year.  Please remember these clinics will be taught by the tennis staff and the quality of instruction will be high. Last season many of our clinics were full so please sign up early.  Registration is a must as space is limited.  To hold your spot you must sign up by email requesting the weeks, days and times you would like your children in the junior clinics.  If you have any questions regarding the clinics please email the pro shop at oltcpro@aol.com.  Below is a list of scheduled weeks, days and times available for you to choose from:

Schedule: Clinics will start April 11 and run until June 17 (Spring 2011)

4-6 Ages: Days:  Monday, Wednesday, Friday 3:30 PM- 4:00 PM

7-9 Ages: Days:  Monday, Wednesday, Friday  4:00 PM-5:00 PM

10-12 Ages: Days:  Monday, Wednesday, Friday  5:00 PM-6:30 PM

Weeks:  April 11, April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9, May 16, May 23, May 30, June 6, June 13. (Start of clinic week)

**There will be no junior clinics held on Memorial Day, May 30

**Please choose the age group, time, day and weeks you would like your children to participate.  You may choose to have them come any schedule you desire.  For example, you could have your 5 year old come to clinic on Mondays from 3:30 PM-4:00 PM or you could have them come on Wednesday or Friday during the same time frame.  You could have him come Monday and Wednesday or even all three days if you like.  Any combination is okay, it is up to you but remember space is limited and the spot might not be available later so sign up for what you think is best for your child.  Remember, our clinics are taught by our Head teaching staff (not high school kids) and the level of instruction will be high.  No more than five children will be on a court per instructor.  Our focus will be on the development of ground strokes, serves, volleys and advanced strategies in singles and doubles for the older kids.  The goal is to develop our juniors into tennis players with the ability to play and score the game of tennis.  Clinics will be adjusted accordingly to the ability level of our juniors.  Please do not sign you child up for a clinic he or she is not old enough to be in.  It is important for us to have the appropriate level of instruction for each clinic and it is impossible to do so if we have to spend extra time on a kid that is too young for the clinic you have signed him up for.

However, the Tennis Director reserves the right to place an advanced junior in an older age clinic if I feel this junior is mature and his ability level is at the level required.  Please call me if you think your son or daughter belongs up or down in a clinic and we will make sure we place them in the appropriate clinic.  Non-members are allowed to participate in these clinics for no additional charge but our policy is to take all Orange Lawn members first.  If your child has a friend who would like to participate in the clinics and we have room we would love to have them.  Please call me to discuss availability for them at 973-762-8689 after April 1 or email oltcpro@aol.com anytime.

Cost per clinic:

Ages:    4-6 Clinic   ($13 per 1/2 hour session)

Ages:    7-9 Clinic  ($23 per 1 hour session)

Ages: 10-12 Clinic  ($30 per 1 1/2 hour session)

ALL CLINICS WILL BE BILLED AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH CLINIC MONTH FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH. YOU WILL BE CREDITED FOR ALL RAIN DATES UNLESS YOU CHOOSE TO TAKE A MAKEUP CLINIC ON ANOTHER DAY WHEN SPACE IS AVAILABLE.  IN THE EVENT OF MULTIPLE RAINOUTS WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ALLOW MAKEUP’S IN OTHER DAYS WE HAVE CLINICS OFFERED.  HOWEVER, PLEASE CALL THE PRO SHOP FOR AVAILABILITY AS SOME CLINICS MIGHT BE COMPLETELY FULL AND WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE MORE KIDS THAN WE HAVE PLANNED FOR.

CANCELLATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED BUT MUST BE MADE ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE BY EMAIL ONLY. CANCELLATIONS MADE THE DAY OF OR TWO DAYS BEFORE YOUR CHILD’S CLINIC WILL NOT BE CREDITED.  THIS POLICY WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED AS OUR PROS HAVE BOOKED THESE TIMES IN THEIR LESSON BOOKS BASED ON HOW MANY JUNIORS ARE SIGNED UP FOR EACH CLINIC.  PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS POLICY AS TEACHING IS WHAT OUR TENNIS PROS DO FOR A LIVING.  DO NOT ASK FOR CREDITS FOR MISSED CLINICS, UNFORTUNATELY WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE YOU AS MUCH AS WE MIGHT LIKE TO.

**Once again, please indicate the name of your child and his or her date of birth.  I will also need the desired weeks for each clinic month, age group, time and days you would like to sign your child or children up for.  I will confirm this information by email.

SPRING WEEKEND JUNIOR CLINICS

Saturday-Junior Clinics:

We will be starting a weekend session of Junior Tennis Clinics for the Spring season this Spring starting April 16.  The dates, times and costs are listed below.  Please sign up by emailing oltcpro@aol.com.  These clinics are open to nonmembers but only after OLTC members have had the chance to sign up first.  Please let me know if you have any nonmembers that would like to join these clinics and we will put them on a wait list for a few days while our membership has the chance to sign up first.  We would love to have them join us as we want our junior program to be the best it can with many juniors eager to learn the game of tennis.

Saturday Spring Session  (9-Weeks):  Starts April 16 and ends June 11

**Clinic dates:  April 16, April 23, April 30, May 7, May 14, May 21, May 28, June 4 and June 11

4-6 year old clinic   (1:30-2:00 P.M. Saturdays)  Cost:  $117

7-9 year old clinic     (2:00- 3:00 P.M.  Saturdays)  Cost:  $207

**Make up date for missed clinic due to rain or any other reason:  Saturday- June 18

(same times as above)

Cancellation Policy-  No cancellations accepted for any Saturday clinics.  If you miss a clinic you may make the missed clinic up on the “make up” date of June 12.  If you do not miss a clinic during this session you may still bring your child to the make up date of June 18 at no additional cost giving you the opportunity to have your child attend for nine sessions and only pay for eight sessions.  In the event of two rain outs we will have another make up date on June 19 at the same times as above. Additionally, if we have space in one of our weekday clinics we can also offer a makeup clinic on one of the weekday days we offer clinics.  We have this policy in affect as weekend lesson times are in high demand and we simply cannot afford to not know exactly how many pros we need in advance.  It is unfair to the pros and the members who want weekend lesson times to not know their schedules throughout the summer season.  Thank you for understanding and we look forward to seeing your kids on the tennis courts this summer.
